Elna sewing machines have been around since 1940. The Elna trademark has always symbolized quality, innovation and service and has earned a significant place in the sewing industry as a result of numerous groundbreaking innovations which have placed Elna products in a class of their own. Elna was the first to introduce special features like lightweight machines, automatic needle threader, heirloom stitches, expandability of stitch packages through the invention of interchangeable cams, cartridges, PRO Cards and EnVision Cards. In addition, Elna is famous for the quality of their stitches and the design of the machines, and is active in more than 60 countries, throughout the world.

 

Story of Ghim Soon & Stitch4you.sg

Our parent company, Ghim Soon Machinery Private Limited, runs the online store, www.stitch4you.sg, selling sewing machines, spare parts, accessories, notions, threads, sewing tables and many more. We import quality products from a strong network of suppliers all over the world, built up over the span of over 40 years.

Our late great grandfather Mr Tan started off by providing sewing machine repair services around kampung neighbourhood areas since the 1940s until the 1970s period. Ghim Soon was finally formed in 1972, providing sewing machine repair services in Geylang Lorong 3. Within a few years, it expanded from merely providing repair services to providing a holistic set of services including sale of sewing machines etc, with the sale of bag closing and domestic sewing machines forming its core business. To support the business expansion, Ghim Soon Sewing Machine Co relocated from a two storey-shophouse to the current premises in 2001. In 2006, Ghim Soon Machinery Pte Ltd is established.
With more than 40 years of experience in the sewing machine industry, Ghim Soon has progressed to be a renowned retailer in Singapore. With the 4th Generation of the Tan family at the helm of the business, we identified the importance of having a strong Ecommerce presence thus Stitch4you.sg was established to create a platform where sewists can shop for machines/sewing tables/accessories and spare parts at ease.

Here at Stitch4you.sg, we believes sewing is more than an art of handicraft and it serves as a livelihood for some. Sewing can also create value for the community through creation of handicrafts and donation to people who requires them. The support behind the sewists are of paramount importance to sewing great things.
